I had the privilege of photographing Kara and Jack’s wedding near Traverse City, Michigan over the weekend. The ceremony was held at the Snow Moon Ranch. Its an alpaca ranch tucked into the woods and hills of northern Michigan overlooking Glen Lake near Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Kara is originally from Clarkston and Jack from England where they live. As a kid Kara spent time in northern Michigan in and around Traverse City and she knew she wanted to get married there. She couldn’t wait to show Jack around “up north” and he loved it. Someone mentioned Snow Moon to her and when she first visited she know this was the place to have the ceremony. I’m so glad as a photographer because I think all weddings should be in amazing locations like this. For dinner and the reception we all went up to the Boathouse on the peninsula that goes out into Grand Traverse Bay. A small intimate place with real good food. They will be heading back to London and looking for a place out in the countryside to get out of the city. I hope Kara find a place as wonderful as the area we were at.
